Slow Roasted Peach

A slight flavoring of herbs infused over the slow cooking process make this a memorable dessert.

Ingredients

  •  vegetable oil cooking spray
  • 4 peaches halved
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon finely chopped fresh lavender or thyme
  • 2 tablespoons low-fat sour cream
 

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 225 degrees.
  2. Spray a baking dish with vegetable oil. In a large bowl toss peaches with olive oil, sugar and herbs.
  3. Place peaches in a baking dish skin side up. Scrape any sugar that remains in the bowl on top of peaches. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown and tender.
  4. Garnish with sour cream and serve.
